Asian Games 2026: Pakistan swimmers exit in 50m breaststroke heats as Tang Qianting leads with 29.50 seconds

Hong Kong's Man Wui Kiu placed 12th in 32.53, and Thailand's Phurichaya Junyamitree was next in 32.70. The rest of the field included Palestine's Valerie Tarazi and Marina Abushamaleh, Lebanon's Lynn El Hajj, Thailand's Thitirat Inchai, Singapore's Tay Jiaqi, Mongolia's Maral Batsanal and Nomin-erdene Batchuluun, Bahrain's Noor Taha, Bangladesh's Mst Mukti Khatun, and Pakistan's two swimmers. Laos' Tamsiri Niyomxay did not appear. The heats showed a clear gap in depth across Asian swimming. While the leading group finished under 30.60 seconds, Pakistan's swimmers ended more than seven seconds behind Tang Qianting. That gap raises a familiar question about youth development, training systems, and long-term investment. For Vietnam, Nguyen's spot in the top ten was a positive sign, though she still trailed the leader by nearly 2.8 seconds.
